Who We Are

Craftsman was born in 1971 as a small business helping individuals and families reupholster their furniture. Our humble beginnings began in Provo, UT in a building that no longer exists. Our founder, Steve Hardle, after growing up doing upholstery; spent 3 years out East to apprentice under upholsterers who were masters of the trade. There Craftsman's attention to detail and quality, and ability to restore antiques was born. After 3 years we moved back to Utah and found success. Quality is at the heart of what we do—so the phrase “it has got to come off” became a quality check tag line for upholsters who had recently joined our organization until the high level of quality has been learned and adopted. Clients have often shared their stories and came back again and again. Now the next generation has taken over- and Craftsman Upholstery is still known for quality, timeliness, and integrity. We continue to expand our clientele to include custom builds for individuals, restaurants, commercial buildings, and LDS Temples. We always love to reupholster and restore as well. We keep delivering quality products because that is the core of what we do.

Our Craftsmen here at Craftsman Upholstery work here because we love to work with our hands and to build beautiful things. We love the challenge that comes from working on new things and figuring out new patterns and ways of doing things to bring beauty and comfort to whatever situation we are adapting to. We better our lives as we give our best every day to construct the best quality furniture and to create memories and relationships while doing it.

We thank our wonderful clients for choosing to trust in us and our process as we help serve you and your unique situations and needs.
